Program Offers

2-Year Fellowship for Urology
3-Year Fellowship for OB/GYN

Number of Fellows: 2 total (1 per year)

The Cedars-Sinai program in FPMRS will provide a high-volume, unique clinical and research experience for fellows. Fellows will have the opportunity to work with five urologists, two gynecologists, two colorectal surgeons, two gastroenterologists, and one physical therapist. They will be trained in a wide variety of cases, from colorectal surgery to gender affirming surgery. Urology-trained fellows will also receive training in male urethral reconstruction. There will be ample volume, and, in fact, we are certain that there will be a choice of cases for fellows. Cedars-Sinai is among the top ten in NIH funding for a private institution. Drs. Anger, Ackerman, Garcia, and Spiegel are all currently funded by government agencies. Fellows will have a choice of a variety of research projects, from clinical to health services research to basic science projects. In addition, this program will address the current shortage of urology-based FPMRS programs, and will provide new educational opportunities for fellows and residents at Cedar-Sinai in both urology and ob/gyn.

One month per year, our FPMRS fellows will learn to manage a primarily low-income, ethnically diverse population, providing a different clinical experience than at Cedars-Sinai. Fellows will participate in clinic and in surgical urogynecologic cases, either scheduled through the residents’ continuity clinic or through the key faculty member’s clinic. Fellows will rotate in a one-on-one preceptorship with the key urogynecology faculty at California Hospital Medical Center for one month of each fellowship year. They will also rotate with Cedars-Sinai urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecology faculty.

Interviews are held at AUA, SUFU, and AUGS annual meetings. Interviews at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center are also available.

Interested applicants may send their CV to Dr. Jennifer Anger at angerj@cshs.org. We will then set up an in-person interview.
