Program Name: Carolinas Healthcare System, University of North Carolina School of Medicine — Charlotte Campus, Charlotte, NC

The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship (FPMRS) at Carolinas HealthCare System is a three-year program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The fellowship program is designed to train physicians to be skilled surgeons, leaders and academicians in this subspecialty field of women’s health care. Fellows receive training in complex and diverse surgeries, urogynecology clinics, and clinical research in pelvic floor disorders. The primary outpatient location is at the Women’s Center for Pelvic Health – an integrated subspecialty office with core faculty board certified/board eligible in FPMRS from both urology and obstetrics gynecology. Fellows receive excellent surgical training in laparoscopic, robotic, vaginal, and abdominal approaches. Additional training opportunities include colorectal and gastroenterology rotations.

Requirements: Completed an ACGME accredited OB/GYN or Urology residency

Fellowship Program Length: 3 years

Number of Fellows: 2 (1 fellow admitted to the program every other year)
